Dear Parents,
I hope that you enjoyed this beautiful weekend! I also hope that those who were not feeling well are starting to feel better!
Veterans Visitors...I want to say a very special thank you to three Veterans that were able to visit us, in the classroom, last week! They did a wonderful job explaining to the children about their jobs/position in the military. The children were so very excited and loved having these visitors! Thank you so very much to: Mr. Steven Wojtkowski, Mr. Eric Rein, and Mr. Bruce Higdon! We thank them for their service in the military and protecting our country! We appreciate your time coming into our room and sharing your stories with us! We thank you for your service!
Padlet for this week: November 15-19 (padlet.org)
From the Classroom...
This week will be very exciting as we will begin tomorrow studying about the Native Americans that Columbus met and named upon his arrival to America. We will learn about various types of Native Americans that lived throughout the United States in various types of homes. We will also learn about their communication through pictures referred to as the Picture dictionary. We will then learn about their homes and focus on the Teepee. Last of all, we will create Native American vests and authentic necklaces! The necklaces will have our Native American names on them. On Thursday, we will learn about the Pilgrims setting sail from England and why they sailed to America. We will learn about them meeting the Native Americans upon their arrival into America and how they celebrated the First Thanksgiving! Also, this week, we will have ELA activities with the story, A Turkey for Thanksgiving! This is a great piece of literature with rich vocabulary, and we will work on a writing piece with this text. In math, we will work with related facts with addition and subtraction. Our Literacy Stations this week will be about medial sounds as well as beginning and ending sounds. We will also have writing activities with our Thanksgiving word mobile word wall.
Turkeys in Disguise...These were on the Padlet last week as well as sent home in our folders. Please send them in by Wednesday so that we can display them in the hallway! These are always very festive and fun!
Helping Hands Needed... I still have the Pilgrim bonnets and several other things that we need help with cutting. Please let me know if you can help with these.
Thank you, thank you, thank you....I want to say a very special thank you to Brenda Rein and Kristina Wojtkowski for all that you help with in the classroom. Your helping hands are more appreciated than you will ever know. These 2 ladies are in and out on any given day and if you see them, please express thanks! I also want to thank Jennifer Wunderlich for all her help on Thursdays. Another thank you goes out to Sara Puffer for her help on various days with a variety of things!
I truly appreciate all that everyone has done and continues to do for our classroom! I just wanted to recognize these ladies in case you see them you can express your thanks.
Book Fair....Our Preview day will be on Tuesday at 1:30. I will send more information home tomorrow concerning when you may send money to purchase books.
Looking Ahead.... Ms. Willett has been a wonderful student teacher for this semester with the Jungle! She has done a wonderful job with the children! Her final day with us will be on Wednesday, December 1st. I will be in touch about a celebration that I would like for us to have!

I truly cannot believe that we are approaching the end of November and Thanksgiving Holiday! The time has truly flown! As we are in the Thanksgiving season, please know how very thankful I am for each of your families! The gift of seeing the growth of your child daily is something that cannot be described. I feel honored and blessed to witness that each day! I wish for you a wonderful week ahead!
